Traveling to Uganda and Kenya was more than a mission trip—it was a life-changing experience that reshaped how I see the Gospel at work around the world. Stepping into a different culture is always challenging in the best ways, stretching my perspective and deepening my dependence on God.

What stood out most was not just what we brought to teach, but what we witnessed: local church leaders faithfully serving their communities with humility, resilience, and a hunger for God’s Word. Being able to walk alongside them—encouraging, empowering, and equipping them to live and lead like Jesus—was incredibly impactful.

The beauty of the approach is its simplicity: rooted in Scripture, easily reproducible, and designed to multiply. This isn’t about building dependency—it’s about helping ignite disciple-making movements that continue long after we leave.

Personally, I always came back changed. Watching leaders grasp and apply biblical truths in real time—seeing those “aha” moments when the Word of God comes alive—was and is always powerful. It reminds me that God is actively growing His Kingdom across the globe, often in ways far beyond what we see at home. This trip strengthened my faith, clarified my calling, and gave me a renewed urgency for mission—both locally and globally.

If you’re considering going, GO, don’t hesitate. There is something uniquely powerful about stepping out of your normal rhythm and witnessing God at work in another part of the world. You won’t just make an impact—you’ll be impacted. And you’ll return with a greater vision for how God can use your life to help others live and lead like Jesus everywhere they go.
