My experience on Helene was life changing. I got to spend time and connect with lots of different people who live on the island, all kinds of people, from pastors on the island to school children. It was such a unique experience that I think everyone should get a chance to do. The trip was eye-opening, getting to see how people live in a different culture and how happy people are with so little. As a musician, getting to meet people on the island who play piano at their church helped inspire me to play more, and now I play on the worship team at my church.
