International Missionary Partner, Uganda
My Name is David Cheni and I am native to Kenya. I was raised in Kenya and called, by God, to Uganda for the Last 20 years. My wife, Sarah, and I stay in the eastern part of Uganda, in the town of Busia, with our five children. By the Grace of God, I have planted 15 Churches both in Kenya and Uganda. I hold a seminary degree from Kenya Baptist and a degree in education from Kyambogo University as a professional teacher of religion and language.
With a global kingdom advance in mind, my goal is to reach orphans and needy children and evangelize entire families in villages in Uganda and around the town of Busia. My wife, Sarah, and I currently lead over 300 children that have lost either one or both parents to HIV/AIDS. Currently, I have adopted 16 orphans and am feeding hundreds of hungry children at a local community school that we oversee with little to no outside financial support. I run a Christian school that is in a poor area that cannot afford a typical government school. The people of the town find volunteers who have an education that will volunteer their time to teach the children.
We run a bible school to train regional pastors and leaders that can’t afford bible basics and seldom get an opportunity to go to any bible school. I am also a lead Pastor of a local Baptist Church of 50 people. Our goal and focus is to disciple pastors who are passionate about disciple making. Our passion is to reach Muslim families with the gospel as we are located in a Muslim dominated community.
