Combating Disease with Clean Water
“For truly I tell you, whoever gives you a cup of water to drink because you bear the name of Christ will by no means lose the reward.” – Mark 9:41
Mission Encounters produces the only clean drinking water on the island. There are other water sources, but none are filtered.
One of the first physical investments when the founding mission started in Helene, was the installation of a reverse osmosis desalination system, due to 50% death rate of babies from dysteria. After three years, the survival rate reached 97%. The system was replaced in 2010.
Annually, MEI provides approximately 20,000 gallons of water to the community on Helene. Mission Encounters provides all electricity, filters, and equipment for the water plant.
Donate today and bear the name of Jesus with a cup of water.
