The 2025 school year at Helene Christian English School is gearing up! School Director, Ms. Kelyn Bowman leads a crew of island teachers with guidance and support from the HCES school board. School board members represent each of the six small communities on the island. MEI Site Director, Reed Dillahunty, serves in an advisory capacity for the school board.
MEI provides curriculum oversight and teacher training for the school. Teacher training 2025 will focus on how to teach phonics and how to manage record keeping efficiently. This time spent together as faculty is also for encouragement – in teaching and in Christ. One of the goals for the teachers this year is to spend more time together outside of school – to nurture each other and build each other up.
“Readin’, ‘riting, and ‘rithmetic” are important subjects at HCES, but the NUMBER ONE priority is making sure that every child learns about Jesus. We use the Rod & Staff curriculum which threads Biblical truth through every lesson. Curriculum is a major expense, and MEI appreciates all donations to help educate our precious children.
As the new school year comes closer, please pray with us over these things:
That God would call a full staff of teachers to work at HCES.
That those teachers would hear and respond to God’s call.
That our children would come to know Jesus as their Savior.
As MEI grows and expands to other nations, we rely on the faithful giving of supporters like you to help us carry out this Great Commission work! Please pray about how God is leading you to give, and then click the link below to invest in strategic missions.
