“Is not wisdom found among the aged? Does not long life bring understanding?” – Job 12:12
Some life lessons come in an instant, and others must be learned from years of experience and growth. The older we grow, the more we learn about kindness, patience, heartbreak, love and mercy. All of these experiences lead us to a deeper understanding of life’s seasons and a greater wisdom of God’s presence through them all.
Senior Day in Honduras
Wednesday, July 25, was Senior Day in Honduras. Senior Day is the working together of several non-profits along with the help of local governments.
Mission Encounters International is doing its part. We were extremely pleased to be able to host 21 seniors from our local Helene communities. With skillful and adept handling of our large boat by Hormond Gentle, one of our local staff, we traveled to Fantasy Island for a day of fun, games, prizes, and a meal.
It was a great occasion. Elizabeth James, the director of our school, organized the group and Elbert Rich, a local pastor, went along to make sure this group of 60 plus seniors did not go unchaperoned. The party was from 10am until 3pm. Larry was worn out as they finally loaded up on the boat to return home.
We are so thankful for our large boat. The seas were rough, but we were able to safely make it from Helene and back home again.
Thank you again to Salvador Foundation for the great means of transportation.
