Special Projects for empowering the community of Helene, Honduras

Empowering the Community

May 6, 2022 Admin Comments Off

Dear MEI Partners,

There are those who PRAY, those who GIVE, and those who GO.  We need people who will give, to see the gospel advance, as well as continue to support our MEI ministry programs. As with all of you, these last two years of turmoil have also negatively affected our MEI Helene ministries, especially with our Special Projects. Like you, we believe where God guides, He provides. So we wanted to share some of our Special Projects needs:

  • As part of our Heart of God gospel sharing, we have printed 24 banners. Our next step is to hang them across the main island path (approximately 5 miles long), sharing the gospel of Christ.  The remaining need is for $500 to hire local labor to install the posts and hang the banners.
  • The foundation on the clinic building has a few posts that have rotted out and need to be replaced to continue supporting the 25-year-old building. $800 will cover the cost of materials and labor.

Trash collection project:

  • For trash collection we have plastic barrels to put out in each community.  The plan is to build small huts around the island to house the barrels.  $1,800 will cover the cost of materials and labor.
  • We have land donated for a trash landfill.  $500 is needed for local labor to dig the landfill.
  • God has provided a tractor for helping with trash collection.  A shelter is needed to protect and secure the tractor.  The project is over halfway done (pictured above) and will need $3,500 to complete.

Thank you for your gracious gifts towards the above Special Project(s) or others listed on our Special Projects webpage.

Wow! We have a lot to do together.  As we do each of these projects, God will be teaching us about His heart, and He will complete His work in us.  “He who began a good work in you will complete it.”  Phil 1:6

As you donate to the Special Projects Fund, please note in the comment field if you would like your gift used for a specific project:
