In March, Juniata Christian School, located in McAlisterville, PA sent a STM Team of 7 high school seniors and 6 adults. Their activities while on-site in Helene included: leading a Bible school, working in the Medical Clinic, visitations, sharing the Gospel with 3 Circles – a two minute Gospel sharing tool, and some building maintenance projects.
Here are some excepts from three of their transformative testimonies. Their full testimonies can be read by clicking on their respective picture.

This trip was unlike any other mission trip I had ever been a part of. What made this one so different? The focus of this trip was sharing Jesus. I was not only challenged to share Jesus with others; Jesus was shared with me. I was guided and taught, encouraged, instructed, challenged, and I was held to God’s standard. I had the opportunity to do the same for others. I shared the gospel and prayed with people. I’m convinced that God can and will use us on mission trips to influence others and spread the gospel.”

Going into this trip, I was praying that God would reveal himself to me in ways that I could not imagine. To start the week, I was not feeling good. Because of this, it was recommended that I help in the medical clinic because I would not be walking in the heat and it was cooler in the clinic. Already God was working even though I could not see. I absolutely loved watching the people interact with Dr. Todd, who was the doctor and our team leader. Every single patient that we saw, we prayed with and it was amazing. I got to pray with some people and share 3 Circles with them. The part that really spoke to me was that everyday, we got to listen to an unborn baby’s heartbeat. I did not expect this but it was so cool. The third baby that we listened to brought tears to my eyes and I realized that God was already showing me His plan.”

A lot of people have been asking how Honduras has changed me or challenged me. There are so many stories and ways that I saw God and I could talk about those for hours, but there were a couple things that stood out to me the most. These things that stood out were more like reminders about how great our God is.One of the things that stood out to me was how present God was the whole entire week in everything I did. Just look at the creation of the island and you can see God’s presence. Being asked how we saw God every night in debrief really changed my perspective and after a few days I didn’t have to look for it anymore, I just saw it. God was so present through the people.”
